Our favorite classroom - the great outdoors
Our courses are a mixture of classroom and fieldwork, with language workshops, group discussions, site visits and individual tuition. English can be practised in a variety of situations and for specific purposes, depending on your requirements, e.g. for park rangers, tourist guides, environmental education.
Courses include all printed teaching material, a CD containing materials, photos, student presentations, plus a certificate of attendance (if required)
Language course in your location:
To save you time and money, we come to you! We will travel to your parks and locations, and teach your staff there, on site. This ensures that your staff can see how to apply English where it counts the most: Where they work.

(plus accommodation and travel expenses)
Language course in Prague:
An environmental language weekend in Prague. Friday evening till Sunday afternoon.

Examples of language course subjects
Courses can follow a standard programme or be customised to your specific requirements:
- Protected areas: Natura 2000, Habitats Directive (FFH), national parks, nature reserves
- Giving presentations, leading guided walks
- Interpretation: visitor information, leaflets, panels and signs
- Specialist vocabulary: landscape terms, plant names, animal and bird names, river ecology
- Environmental issues: global warming, pollution, resource management, biofuels, marine issues, invasive species, bidiversity
- Others: water frameworks directive, the weather, environmental law, rangers and guides

Schneverdingen/Camp Reinsehlen, Germany, June 2008
Organised by the Alfred Toepfer Academy for Nature Conservation in co-operation with the International Academy for Nature Conservation (Vilm) and Europarc Germany. A mixture of classroom lessons and outdoor workshops, with an emphasis on group and individual presentations.


Peak District National Park, England, August 2007
A one week residential course organised by Losehill Hall centre for environmental education. A mixture of classroom lessons and outdoor workshops. A chance to rapidly increase language skills in a totally English speaking environment.


Brandenburg Ranger Service, Germany, November 2007
A one week intensive course specially designed for rangers and guides, with classroom lessons in the morning and outdoor workshops in the afternoon. Specialised vocabulary was taught as well as some grammar and general English skills. Students gave individual and group presentations.


Kalkalpen National Park, Austria, April 2006
A one week intensive course specially designed for the national park staff. Each day had a different theme, with classroom lessons in the morning and outdoor workshops in the afternoon. Specialised vocabulary was taught as well as some grammar and general English skills.


Porkuni, Estonia, May 2006
A one week course organised by WWF for the S-MAN2000 project, focusing on Natura2000 issues. A mixture of classroom lessons and outdoor workshops.
